I am a former competitive athlete, now a professional working as an Accounting and Financial Analyst.
My sports career started in Gymnastics back in Croatia, where I was a member of one of the most successful gymnastics clubs in Croatia “Marjan”, which produced three time Olympic gymnasts. As my gymnastics career came to an end, I soon became a pole vaulter for Track and Field Club “ASK” from Split where I was proud to be one of the first women’s pole vault athletes in Croatia and a member of both Junior and Senior Croatian National Track and Field Teams. Ten years ago, I have arrived to the U.S. as a student-athlete on a Track and Field scholarship and competed for Eastern Illinois University. I was a member of two time winning Conference Championship team. I have acquired both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Eastern Illinois University.
After finishing eligibility with NCAA, I have turned to my professional career and acquired MBA Degree, and soon after, obtained job in Southern California. I have been working for a steel/mold base manufacturing company in controlling/accounting/financial reporting departments. I am responsible for period closings, interim and year end audits, and various data analysis for the upper management. My responsibilities include every day general ledger recordings, inventory reconciliations, gathering and analyzing data to produce KPIs and metric for effective management decision making. I have also been working with external auditors, such as KPMG.
