Croatian Olive Oil in America: How to Use Croatia’s Strengths to Tap into the Specialty Food Market

Published: September 21, 2017
Dear all,

You are cordially invited to attend the next Croatian Hour, which will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 starting at 7 PM.  The event will take place at the Croatian Embassy, located at 2343 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.

This month, Mike Drušković will kick off HURA’s 2017-2018 season with a talk about Croatian olive oil and its prospects in the international market for specialty foods.  We will also have the opportunity for a complimentary taste of Croatian olive oil.

Mike Drušković serves as the President of Drusk Trading Company, developing new markets for some of Croatia’s top products, most notably Chiavalon extra virgin olive oil. Previously, Mike served as an analyst under Igor Gvozdanović at one of Croatia’s top investment management funds. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Economics and Russian Language and Literature, which included a semester at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. Originally from the resort town of Traverse City, Michigan, Mike now resides in Chicago. He ventured into international trade after discovering highly competitive Croatian products from producers that did not have the resources to export to the United States. Mike is of Samobor and Korculan descent.

As always, the lecture will be followed by a social hour including food and drinks.

We are looking forward to seeing you.

Best regards,

HURA Organizing Committee
