ACAP Zagreb Supports Croatian House Initiative for 2028 Olympics

Zagreb, November 14, 2024 – Plans for the Croatian House at the 2028 Olympics advanced significantly with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Croatian Olympic Committee (HOO) and the City of Los Angeles at the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb. The agreement, signed by Croatian Olympic Committee President Zlatko Mateša and Los Angeles City Council Member Tim McOsker, officially sets the stage for the Croatian House in San Pedro during the Olympic Games.

The event was attended by U.S. Ambassador to Croatia Nathalie Rayes, Croatian IOC Member Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn and ACAP Zagreb President Don Markušić. Markušić highlighted how the project aligns with ACAP’s mission to strengthen ties with the Croatian diaspora, promote Croatian culture and business on a global stage, enhance international partnerships, and support cultural and educational initiatives.

Markušić further emphasized ACAP’s vital role in connecting Croatian communities worldwide and fostering collaborations that benefit both Croatia and the U.S. The agreement represents an exciting step forward for Croatia’s presence at the 2028 Olympics.
